I have a serious problem of trying to start fights with guys after my body has hit a certain level of whiskey over load.

Point taken; A few months ago, my roommates and i were all out to celebrate Mary’s leave back to ireland. A girl can’t leave on a plane to ireland with out a hang over can she? The night starts at black rabbit (of course) where i start to slowly realize that we are all way too drunk and rowdy for such a nice establishment. We all stumble down the street to what has to be the worst/sleazy bar in greenpoint- Coco 66.

This bar is a pit of bad lighting, bad people and sleazy dancing. It’s the type of place that one would only want to venture to when they are drunk enough to think that it might be a good idea. We arrive to find a few other friends who are too drunk to stay. I notice at the end of the bar, Mary has be friended a man with a very young, very adorible puppy.

“Hm.” I think, “Its kind of late and weird that he has a puppy here at a bar”

Now i know that the difference betweek a human child and a puppy are different, but it does say something about your self if you bring you new born fuzzy canine to a shit bar at 3 in the morning. I choice to ignore and continue to drink a few more glasses of whiskey on ice out of a jam jar. A friend of mine has had his fill and decides to head home for his own good. I walk him out and notice out of the corner of my eye the same guy with his puppy hanging over his arm like a dead fox fur.

I focus a little more of this ruffian and notice that he is smoking a cigarette. The blonde bimbo that he is trying to impress is all giggly in her american apparel one piece jump suit that she has already spilled red wine on is hanging on to every word this jerk is saying. Pressing her pushed up chest against his arm and swooning “OH JUST LOOK AT THAT PUPPY! how presious! how old is it?”

“Just a few weeks old!” Jerk says in his flushed face glory.

“Do you always smoke with it around like that? I’ve heard they can get second hand smoke” Gee, i guess this girl can read the posters on the L train well enough.

“Oh no, he likes it!” Boasts Jerk “Look, see!”

At this point he lifts the sleeping puppy and blows smoke DIRECTLY INTO ITS FACE this is where i loose my god damn mind. i turn to Jerk and begin to scream at him, saying that he just because he doesn’t have a dick that he can’t use his puppy to get pussy. That him buying a dog that he can’t take care of doesn’t mean he’s a secitive guy or even worth a fuck. I say that its people like him that make brooklyn seem like a zest pool of kids not worth their parents bonus check. I finished with “i think your puppy has bigger balls than you do.”

Ok, so i kind of made Jerk super mad. Oops. Also keep in mind, i’m kind of standing alone here. I don’t have a group of friends or anything because every one i know is inside laughing and ordering drinks. I’m in no mans land, hair standing on the back of my neck and seeing red.

He calls me a bitch and to shut the fuck up, the calls me a dike… these are all things i’ve heard before so i stand my ground.

Then he steps TOWARDS me.

this is when it gets better.

Jerk steps towards me in a threating stare and continues to yell till his yellow eyes start bulging out of his large sweaty skull. I start to slightly worry if this guy is really going to go at me, then suddenly i hear a voice behind me “fuck you dude you’re an asshole.” I turn to meet eyes with my savior and find a whole group of strangers standing behind me and yelling back at Jerk.

“Who brings a puppy to a bar at 3 am?”

“What an asshole”

“Get the fuck out of here!”

“Dont’ touch her!”

The bouncer comes up and asks me if there is some sort of problem. I don’t even have to answer, the angry mob behind me all point accusing fingers at jerk and call him out.

“Sorry guy,” the Bouncer says “i’m going to have to ask you to leave”

Stunned and stuttering, jerk leaves with his bimbo. The angry mob starts to APLUSE.

And i just smile. There is hope for brooklyn yet. Well, at least in greenpoint
